He has published over 100 professional papers and articles on dentistry and aging. He continues to write Peer Reviewed CE courses for PennWell and other journals, including international journals. " open="no"]TRUTH:  In 2010 he was the Academy of General Dentisty's only recipient of the Academy's Humanitarian Award for his service to better mankind throughout the world both through his clinical work and teaching. He is a Professor of Geriatric Medicine, Nursing and Dentistry in several hospitals in Mainland China. In 2012, he was awarded the nation’s highest award, The Friendship Award, for his meritorious humanitarian service throughout China since 2008. He continues to lecture in China from one to two times yearly.[/toggle]

More details on Dr. Eric Shapira

Dr. Eric Shapira bioDr. Eric Shapira is a graduate of Temple University School of Dentistry in Philadelphia. He has been an active member in the American Dental Association and maintains an Emeritus Life Member of ADA and the Academy of General Dentistry for almost 40 years.

He received his Master's of Arts degree in Clinical Gerontology with emphasis on counseling and psychology from Notre Dame de Namur University and became an "Aging Specialist" for the "boomer" generation, their families and parents. He received his Master's degree in Health Administration from the University of Phoenix, which has enabled him to assist people in navigating the healthcare system and the transitions of aging. He is also a Professor of Geriatric Medicine, Nursing and Dentistry in several hospitals in Mainland China where he continues to lecture a couple of times a year.

Dr. Shapira teaches geriatric and dental courses as well as combined courses in both topics throughout the United States at national, state and county dental meetings, schools and universities as well as for public groups on an on-going basis. Dr. Shapira has an interactive teaching style allowing the audience to learn more by participating.
