Curasan is proud to present Dr. Roth as its first "Most Interesting Man in Dentistry" for 2016.  Dr. Roth embodies all of the qualities, characteristics and accomplishments that are required to fill this position.  His successes in the field of dentistry, a fascinating background and a strong commitment to charity all made him an obvious choice for this honor.

More details on Dr. Roth

Dr. Roth did not come into dentistry via the usual route.  Unlike the majority of dentist, who study dentistry immediately upon completion of their undergrad, he chose to go into accounting.  In fact, he was on his way to a very successful career in that field having worked his way into a top managerial position within a major pharmaceutical company.  All that changed however after having to spend countless hours in a dental chair to fix his teeth from playing years of hockey. It was then that he made a major career shift and dove into dentistry.  After finishing dental school from the University of North Carolina he was off and running.

In typical outlier fashion he rapidly began to climb to the top of his profession by starting his own practice (Carolina Dental Arts).  In rapid succession he then opened thirty-one other practices.  Along the way he also founded and serves as President of Encompass Integrated Health Care Consultants – a staffing and practice sales business.

Among Dr. Roth’s other accomplishments his is a:

• Former Adjunct Assistant Professor at UNC School of Dentistry
• Member Chicago Dental Society
• Member North Carolina Dental society
• Member of American Dental Association

Dr. Roth enjoys boating, weight lifting, cycling, tennis, fishing, international travel, track sessions at VIR and skiing.  He is married with a twelve year old girl.  And when he can, he still indulges himself in a recreational game of hockey.
